OTRO OAXACA

Otro Oaxaca is a boutique hotel in Oaxaca City, Mexico, that seamlessly blends contemporary design with local heritage. Located directly across from the historic Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, the hotel offers guests an immersive experience into the city's rich cultural tapestry.

Designed by local architects at RootStudio, led by João Boto Caeiro, the hotel's architecture draws inspiration from the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mitla. Its design features cross-shaped walkways, brick walls, and a limestone rooftop terrace, complemented by raw concrete and reclaimed wood, reflecting traditional Oaxacan textures.

The interiors, curated by Carlos Couturier of Grupo Habita, showcase handcrafted furniture and linens made by local artisans using regionally sourced materials. The 16 guest rooms, including Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suite, and Townhouse options, offer a serene ambiance with finishes of wood, suede, resin, and metal.

Culinary offerings are led by Chef Saúl Carranza, who presents a menu emphasizing flavor, freshness, and unexpected textures, all crafted from local ingredients. Guests can dine in the tranquil ground-floor patio or at the communal rooftop table, where dishes are prepared on an open grill.

Additional amenities include a rooftop terrace with panoramic city views and a 30-foot pool, as well as the unique "Otro Mundo" spa located beneath the ground-level patio. The spa features a heated 20-foot diameter plunge pool, naturally lit by an overhead porthole, and offers massages, aromatherapy, and indigenous treatments.

Situated in the heart of Oaxaca City, Otro Oaxaca provides guests with easy access to the city's vibrant culinary scene, art galleries, and cultural landmarks, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking an authentic and enriching experience.
